In Kaitlin's Life This Week
Howdy and hello guys! How are we this lovely day? Good I hope! Ok, too much, huh? I'm both extremely excited and somewhat, er, saddened. But, I really don't want to dwell on the bad stuff, so let's move on to the good stuff! First things first, my dearest Becky (~
lovedbyHim) is coming into town next week and we are scheduling a shoot! I'm SO excited for two reasons: one the fact that ideas have been flowing out of my head like CRAZY lately and two because we are going to do some on my college campus which has some AWESOME scenery right now. So, I'm as happy as the IRS at a poor man's audit. (HAH! POLITICAL JOKE!) But that is for another journal....
Moving on! I'm thinking about starting a club. I'm not really sure yet though. Honestly, I want to start a er, culture/legend club, if you will. As some of you may know, I LOVE learning about other cultures and myths, fables and folklores, even history. I just want a place where people from every place, country, nation can gather and share things like this. It could be anything from a haunted house down the street to a story of a local boogieman. You could post any type of art, maybe a picture of this house, a painting, sculpture, anything! It's up to your imagination. It would be open to all types of media, obviously. So what do you guys think? Yes, no? Maybe so?

Next order of business has to do with contests. I just realized I've never technically held and/or been in a contest of any sort. Thus, I'm going to start looking for some good contests on DA. AND I think I've finally decided on whether or not I'm going to hold my own contest. And the answer is....yes. I'm currently about ten full chapters into Twilight at the moment. Starting later this year, probably in the Fall sometime, I'm going to post a story related contest. It can be in any category, you can draw a character, an object, a map, you can take a picture of something that correlates with the story, heck, you could even dress up like someone! You could write something, etc. etc. Hopefully I will have gotten to a point in the story where at least half of the characters are introduced and the other half I will post excerpts of them. Now, this date is subject to change, but this is what I've currently planned on. Ok? Ok!
Next, next order of business. Does anyone know where I can apply for a job on DA? Haha, I just love this website so much. It's like my home away from home. Yes, random, not what I was going to say, but oh well! What I was going to say next was about the direction of my work. Yes, I'm going to continue dragging my beautiful friends around and having them model for me, but there's something else too. My first love in photography was still life and macro and that has never left me. And since it's hard for me to always put shoots together with everyone always busy and gone, I think I'm going to start going back to my roots. Plus, I really want to try some new things, like abstract and minimalistic styles. I really want to start to experiment a lot. Thus if you guys think that might be a little boring or something, just uncheck my deviations, k? I'm perfectly fine with that! Experiments may be fun for me and not you and I have no qualm with that!
Okey dokey then, I think that's it for now. Remember two things: what do you think of my club idea, and two, the features this week are AWESOME! So go give some major love to said feature peoples.

Goodnight guys!

This Week's Features
The first feature this week is just, purely amazing. I was floored when I browsed through his gallery. A true master at the digital arts. He has everything from fantasy to sci-fi, anime to gorgeous (real looking!) landscapes. There is something for everyone in here and I can gurantee you you won't want to leave after touring through the spectacular work of ~
agnidevi.

This next feature I was very, very lucky to catch. I was about to turn in for the night when I hit my homepage, just in case I had another message you know, when I saw a lovely piece with one of my favourite mythical creatures on the front page. I clicked on it and instantly I was in unicorn bliss. Then, as I clicked the lovely artist who drew this gallery button and my bliss was multiplied by ten! What a lovely and whimsical style she has. Most certainly unique and very beautiful and just great pieces of eyecandy! She has a big imagination and a smooth flowing hand. So with that, I encourage you to visit the lovely gem that is ~
inkscribbles gallery.

This week's final feature comes from a fairly new deviant. It is not very often I find a manga/anime style artist that paints. Keeping that in mind, what a great find it was when I came across this deviant's gallery. In particular, her art isn't just pictures so to speak, it's tales that transcend both time and space to ancient loves and far off journeys. I love her soft style which really gives her paintings a really romantic feel to them. Please check into ~
loraphins gallery!

a club, uh? that sounds great..at least I like how it sounds, well, I also like to learn about other cultures...and I bet there's a lot of deviants who feel the same!
wow, a contest? that sounds cool! I hope there will be a lot of entries
now, about the photos, I think you should do what you feel is worth to do, and what you like to do! anyway, I like both macro and still life..so that's ok for me
well, the features.....wow, the first one is truly amazing!
the second one is also pretty good, something like art noveau mixed with modern techs...
the third one is very good, too, her water color techniques are very impressive!

.......Well this side of Paradise!.......
...There's little comfort in the wise...
and i gotta say i'm green with envy that becky gets to do a shoot...grr...don't be suprised if while you are taking a shot a crazy girl jumps out of the bushes and tackels your model...

hmmmmmm..i see you like to chew..how 'bout you chew--ON MY FIST!!!!
Apparrently everyone neglected to tell me that you came to drama practice the other day. I was just saying something to Rachel about missing you and stuff, and she says, "We saw her at drama practice the other day, remember?"
Hehe, no. As it goes, someone was supposed to get me, but didn't, so I'm left Kaitlin-less.
And I'd write more but Zanna is impatient to get on..

Thanks for your input! I'm going to start looking into this more for sure. Both the club and the contest. I'm going to wait a while so hopefully by then Twilight will be a little farther along and more people would want to join.
Yes, thank you for your support! I feel better about this now.
I know! They were all wonderful! But yes, the first one, omg, I thought his landscapes were real at first! He's an incredible artist. The other two were very unique and whimisical and I loved them too!
