The Sea in the Sky by Mylares The Sea in the Sky by Mylares
Have you ever gone away, in the still of the morning, on a cool Autumn day, and just watched? Your breath forms little puffs, like snow clouds, and everything around you seems to be mute in the face of such splendor. Splendor, you say? Look up, there's a tree, with bark aged a creamy shade of brown, twisting up, up, up, and unfurling against a sky so blue you could dive in. And there it is, there, yes, everything goes quiet and little streamers of morning sun warm your cheek as you stare.

Above you are jewels, in the shape of leaves, and they glow with the sun. In colors so vivid it's near impossible, you mouth a quiet "Wow....". And as you continue to stare, it continues to change, like light caught under water, with each little wind, little wave, everything shifts into clarity of a different kind. In your ocean of blue sky, the coral sway slightly, dancing in it.

And then, your eyes come down, you breath in, and respond to the murmured voice calling, leaving your little ocean behind.

So, no lie, this is what I felt like when I visited the Japanese Botanical Gardens. This description, though in literary form, is how I felt at the time. Though, things on eye level were gorgeous too, though in different ways, but right now I'm talking about the trees in the light.

So these three would be, September, October, November (in that calendar I'll get around too eventually
). The one in the middle is actually one of the ceremonial dancers all dolled up. I have a bunch from the dances, but when I took this I thought it would compliment both of the leaf shots beautifully. There was something so striking about the kimono, the colors, even the flowers, I just zoomed in and snapped away.

Well enjoy! I'll probably post these individually (again, eventually) as prints.

.....And yes, in case you haven't noticed, fall is my favourite season.

such wave of colors...it makes me feel I'm under huge and kind trees that stay in constant motion while dancing with a warm breeze in a late evening, near the sunset, just when a brook starts being noticed.......mm......so relaxing...
well..time to wake up..
the different leaves and the kimono look pretty good, so alive..
and what you wrote really took me to that place
I love japanese gardens

And same here. This one in particular I've totally fallen in love with. I think I'm going to make an effort to visit it every fall. :aww:

Wow! Very nice!

The one on the left is especially powerful! All of them give that very cool and relaxing feeling of the fall (which is actually how it feels right now :\).

Very nice photos!
