Rise Through the Ashes by Mylares Rise Through the Ashes by Mylares
It is snowing remnants of former life

They swirl and swoop, and then fade away

The pieces of one's life are gone

But fear not, for there is still hope

It is tiny and tender, just as you now are

You will Rise Through the Ashes

Dedicated to all of those who suffered lost in the recent California wildfires. My hopes and prayers are with you.

How nice of you, dedicating this to those who lost family, friends and homes from the fires ^^ I live in Southern California myself. But the fires took place a bit of a distance from us, but the thick smoke still got to us. Some of the school teachers' homes were almost it danger though! D:

Anyway, I like this piece. It shows hope, on how the little plant pops out of the ashes. :] The overall concept, simply put, is awesome =]

It was the least I could do. Oh you live in Cali? I'm glad you're alright! My gosh, watching it on the news was terrifying. It looked like it had a mind of its own. Was the smoke really bad? I'm glad no one (teachers included) had anything lost or damaged near you.

Again thank you and I hope you and your state can pick up and move on.

beautiful work, the photo, the poem and the whole idea...I like how it looks like a new born life appearing where there's nothing left..

yeah, it's such a tragedy, but people must have faith in themselves and never give up nor give in

Thanks! That's what I was going for. It's a tough thing indeed, to loose everything, but most of all, still having life to pick up and start over, that's a blessing in and of itself.

Thanks, it's simple but I really liked how it turned out. Some things just don't need to be overexplained.
